Learning to Let Go

Let go

As Autumn is rapidly approaching, now is a great time to let go. Whilst trees are dropping leaves, we can mirror this and drop any doubts we may be feeling.

Give your Feelings Some TLC

Checking in with ourselves is so important for our mental health. Having an understanding of our feelings and thoughts can give us a great insight into what is going on in those great minds of ours.

If you listen to yourself in a way which suits you, perhaps a full body scan through meditation, you will come to understand yourself better. With this, you can decide if there are any underlying emotions which can be let go of.

Picture letting go. I am not going to tell you how to do this, as each of our imagination’s will be so very different.

Take a leap of faith into the new and unknown, ready to start a new chapter feeling light and free.

Practice makes Perfect

Although there is no such thing as perfect…

Letting go seems simple, however, some of us may struggle more than others. This is totally normal.

This is because our mind is a muscle, so being consistent is key. Pushing ourselves out of that comfort zone is the only way we will ever change.

We have to build up this muscle through training, we are shaping our mind. Learning a new skill takes time, energy, persistence and patience. If you understand this and are ready to let go of bottled up thoughts, then I believe in you.

Let Go of the Fear

Many of us are afraid or a little anxious of the unknown. If you think about it, nothing is really known. We don’t know exactly what will happen tomorrow, or next month, so why waste energy worrying about it.

Things happen for a reason, life is full of lessons. I believe we need to start trusting the unknown and letting whatever happens, simply happen.

If you think about it, scientists have a lot of unknowns as well. We don’t know what is in this universe, if there are other life forms or when the world will end. But, I bet you we don’t sit and worry about these things everyday do we? No, because they are unknowns and out of our control.

That is where we let go. Using this logic may help you let go in your own life and start trusting what is around you.

Happiness is a Way of Life

You may have heard the saying “happiness is not a destination, it’s a journey”, and as corny as this may sound, it is definitely true.

Happiness

Stop Waiting for Happiness

If you spend your life thinking “I will be happy when…” then trust me, you will never be happy. Happiness comes from within, therefore, your mindset will have a major impact on the way you feel.

In a time where we live our lives online, many of us may find ourselves comparing our looks and lives to others. Remember that Instagram shows the fun parts, the things people want you to see. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that, if you know me, you will know I love sharing photos.

However, if we keep this attitude of comparisons, we will also struggle to feel happy. It is actually detrimental to our mental health.

The Best Time is NOW

If you really start embracing the present moment, you will be really living! Now is the time you can start something new, break an old habit and really make a change.

Yes, you may plan ahead and be organised, however, arranging to do something ‘tomorrow’ will be actually done in the present moment.

A saying my Grandad ingrained into me, which at a young age, I struggled to understand;

“Today is tomorrow, yesterday.”

If you think about it, then there is nothing untrue about that quote. It goes to show how time passes.

Be Happy and Be You

Feel your happiness. Find your happiness. The way you think impacts the way you feel.

Of course, there are things and people that can make you happy. But, happiness is a feeling and it is sourced from your own head. Keep on doing the things which add to your happiness. Spending time with positive people will also remind you to think happy thoughts.

Embracing New Opportunities in Life

Opportunities

I am about to embark on a new personal adventure, hence my inspiration today to share how we can fully embrace fantastic opportunities life may throw at us.

Be Free & Face Fear

Fear comes naturally, especially in times where life and surroundings are changing. There are steps we can take to overcome these feelings and understand that change can really be for the better.

Standing up to your demons is a big task, I know. However, once you have done it you will feel lighter, uplifted and free.

  • Recognise how you feel and work with it, not against it
  • Fill yourself with positive messages, leaving you feeling great
  • Share your experience, talk to people you feel comfortable with about how you feel. Gaining an alternative perspective may be beneficial

Never Settle for an Easy Ride

Life is supposed to be challenging. We are meant to feel stretched and tested. It is in times like these that you are able to understand how strong you are and your own capabilities.

Not letting yourself settle for the easiest journey is a wise piece of advice I was once given. That is not for one minute saying you should struggle. It simply means we all need to give ourselves a push every once in a while. Try not to let things become to comfortable, that often leads to monotony and boredom!

Only Take the Opportunities that Feel Right

Opportunities come up all the time. Life is absolutely full of them. You don’t have to soak them all up like a sponge and wear yourself away.

Sometimes, opportunities will arise that may make you doubtful. Often, this is an indicator that it is not right for you. Turning an opportunity down shows just as much courage as taking one on.

However, don’t be a settler. Pushing yourself out of your comfort zone will probably be one of the best things you ever do.

Take a chance, grow a pair and get shit done.

Thank you so much for reading.

Creativity as an Expression of Individuality

Creativity

“Life has no limits.”

If you want to do something, do it!

We can use creativity in any way we like. Understanding the powers of your creative mind may take a while to come to terms with.

Creativity for Self Expression

Self expression is a wonderful way of allowing yourself to understand yourself. Others are likely to begin to understand who you are along the way.

Using your creative powers to share yourself is a weird and wonderful thing. This, what you are reading right, now can be considered my form of creativity. I am expressing myself through words. Of course, this can be done in any way, through dance, song, art and beyond. Others can appreciate your own creative work.

There are NO LIMITS

I really believe life has no limits. You set your own limits. If you want to do something, do it. From a young age, this has always been a life lesson I have been given on repeat. Now, I really believe this is mentality installed in me. So, I know that I am capable of using my creativity, or, in fact anything I set my mind to.

Therefore, what I am trying to say is, never be afraid of “giving things a go”. Ask yourself what have you got to lose? You don’t know the outcome of something until you have tried it.

Do Creative Ideas Come and Go?

Recently, I came across an interesting concept that ideas come to us and leave us if we don’t do anything about them. A creative spark will come into your life in a metaphysical way, and you chose what to do with it.

This idea comes from Big Magic, an inspirational book by Elizabeth Gilbert. If you are looking for ways to express your creativity, I recommend the read.

In this, she explains her belief that a creative idea will come to you at the most unusual moment. If you are the person who is supposed to bring this idea to life using your creativity, you will. If not, this idea will move on to someone else.

At first I thought this was a little odd, however, I have since opened up to the idea. If you think of something but don’t grab the opportunity, then it was not meant to be.
