Some days I wake up feeling inspired. I am ready to take on the day, I have a new set of goals and nothing will stop me from smashing them. Other days, I wake up lacking this. Finding inspiration when you’re not in the right frame of mind to do so can be difficult.
Take Some Time Out
The most productive thing I have learnt when I am feeling uninspired is to just stop. We all lead busy lives, with work to go to, gym sessions to complete, TV shows to watch and friends to meet. Sometimes, it can be overwhelming to keep on top of it all.
I have recently found that the best way to deal with these feelings is to take some time out. Take time for yourself to assess your goals. Spend time doing the things you really love. Start putting yourself first. Inspiration will come when you are happy and relaxed.
Don’t Chase Something you Don’t Want
I believe we can all be guilty of chasing goals we don’t really want to achieve. Just because someone else is doing something does not mean you have to do it too.
We are all on our own paths and we really should be doing what we want to do. Ask yourself – “What do I want? Why do I want that? How will I achieve that?” Follow what you actually want to do, not what other people want you to do.
If you are continually struggling with something, start reassessing why you are doing it. You will find it is either because you don’t really want to do it, or you are going about it in the wrong way.
A Change in Direction for Inspiration
Changing your focus and shifting your mindset may be enough for you. Finding inspiration happens in different ways for all of us. Find what works best for you.
Once you have decided what it is you actually want to do, you will probably be very motivated to do so. People who know me know that I am very tenacious, and if I have my mind set on something, I will do all I can to achieve it. I am not a giver upper, nor should you be.
I really believe we all have a drive within us to achieve the things we truly want to do. Of course, you will not wake up everyday feeling inspired. However, I encourage you to recognise this feeling and start asking yourself why you feel this way.
I hope you all fuel your own inspiration. There really is no time like the present and if you want something, I believe you will smash it! I don’t believe in luck, but I do believe hard work pays off – so if you want to achieve a goal, put your mind to it and just get it done!
