Perception is Everything: The Power is Within You

Perception is Everything
Perception is Everything

Hello everyone. I am writing this from sunny Spain! Today I am going to talk about the power of perception. Let’s fill our lives with more positive energy.

Perception of What?

You may be thinking, what kind of perception? Well, the way we perceive things affects how we act and how we feel. Of course, we can’t control everything, life is spontaneous and can be filled with some unwanted events.

If you explore the definition of perception, there are two: “the ability to see, hear, or become aware of something through the senses”. It is also defined as; “the way in which something is regarded, understood or interpreted”.

So, here, we are looking at the second definition. How do you perceive situations? How do you deal with what life throws your way?

You Have an Amazing Power

I want you to understand that you have a sense of control over the way you react. All of those feelings, the positive and negative ones – happiness, sadness, anger, resentment etc, are what you allow yourself to feel.

The message I am trying to get across is that if someone does something which makes you angry, you can control how long you feel angry for. I am not saying never feel anger, I am simply saying learn to let it go. Holding onto a certain emotion for too long can be detrimental to your happiness.

Learn to use the power to your advantage. If you become upset by something, recognise the feeling, let yourself be upset. But, it only takes so long before it becomes self-inflicted. Learn to release the emotion. Move on.

That is how you stay positive as much as possible. We all feel sadness, we all feel anger, it is just some people are more aware and in control of their emotions than others. Become one of these people, it will only benefit you.

Thank you so much for reading, I hope you have a beautiful weekend.

Finding Your Own Happy Place

Happy Places
Happy Places

Hello all. I hope you have had a beautiful week. Today I am going to talk about what we can do to find our very own happy place. This will be a place where you feel completely content, whole, relaxed and yourself.

Why Do I Need a Happy Place?

The answer is simple. To spread happiness. Once you have found your true happy place where you feel 100% yourself and fully content with who you are, you can move it. By starting off with a smaller and possibly specific place, you can learn to love yourself.

If you wish to be there alone, be alone. If you want to take someone there who means something to you, do so. This is your sacred happy place. Do with it as you wish.

The whole purpose of finding a space for yourself is so you can be alone with your thoughts and learn to work with them, not against them. So many of us fill ourselves with unconscious negative narratives throughout our day, it is draining.

Start Small, Think Big

If it seems daunting, literally go out and find somewhere you love. If you want it to be your bedroom, that is perfect. Likewise, if you find a park bench you become accustomed to, go there.

During those moments where it all seems a bit too much, when there is a lot going on, stop. Take yourself to your new happy place and breathe. Think. Be.

Once you are able to recognise that calm, happy and recharged feeling after spending some time in this space, you won’t have to go as often.

You will work out how to adapt your life to be a more positive one. These happy thoughts will begin to fill your mind. Over time, you will learn how to think in this way everyday.

No matter who you are, I think we should all have a happy place. Maybe you’ve been on holiday and fallen in love with somewhere. That doesn’t mean you can only feel happiness when you go there. Learn to adapt, bring the feelings you feel there to the now. Live in the moment.

I hope you enjoyed this post. Thank you for reading.

Surrounding Yourself with Positivity

Surround Yourself with Positivity
Surround Yourself with Positivity

Hello all. I hope you are having a great week. Today I am touching on how important it is for us to surround ourselves with positivity. Positive vibes only please.

Negative Thinkers: What They Are Doing To Us

You may be blissfully unaware of the impact negative thinkers have on us. They affect almost everything, from our health, to our beliefs and even the way we think about ourselves.

You are probably aware of how much of a preacher I am when it comes to spreading positivity. If you know me, you will really know how I feel about looking for the best aspects of every situation life throws at us.

I was hugely inspired by the book I am reading at the moment, The Magic of Thinking Big. The author covers a wide variety of positivity, how we can incorporate it into our everyday lives and really change the way we think.

“Don’t let negative thinkers pull you down to their level.”

This is a quote from the book which really stood out to me. Based on the idea that if you share a big idea you have with a group of friends, think about how many of them will tell you you’re a dreamer and that it will never happen, or that it is “wishful thinking”.

Instead, make yourself aware of the affect these sorts of people are having on you. Recognise it and you will learn to rise above it.

Prove them Wrong!

We all know we are capable of achieving great things. I am a true believer that we can do whatever we put our minds to. All it requires is dedication, determination and self-belief. If there is something you really can’t stop thinking about, it is probably time to implement your plan. Believe in yourself and you will make it work. I am not for one minute saying it will be an easy ride. Life is unpredictable, it will be a challenge. If you think about it positively and don’t give in to the difficulties, you will get there. I believe in you.

Believing in Other People’s Dreams As Well As Your Own – Spreading Positivity

Next time your friends share their biggest aspirations with you, encourage them. Think of the amount of times people have brought you down by not believing in you. Don’t be that person. Instead, uplift them.

I have never been the type of person to shit on someone’s dreams. I understand myself that we can achieve greatness, the power of positivity is all it really takes. Therefore, I have always encouraged people. When I was younger and friends would tell me their life goals, I never laughed. I always truly believed they would smash them.

Think about the words of encouragement you would want to hear, then give them back. It will work in your favour.

I hope I have inspired you in some way today. Thank you, as always for reading. Please share your opinions.

Acting Confidently Can Lead to Being Confident

Be Confident
Be Confident

Hello all. I hope you are having a beautiful day! Today I am going to talk about how we can create confidence by acting with self-assurance. You can start this right now, let’s being a confident journey to success.

Becoming Confident

Nobody is born confident. Confidence comes from the way you think about yourself and the situations you face on a daily basis. You may have heard of the phrase “knocked my confidence”, which is usually due to a failure of some kind. This is someone’s perception of a situation.

A definition of confidence is “feeling or showing certainty about something”. Let this resonate with you for a second. It literally translates to how you feel, affecting how you act. In positivity books there is often a whole chapter on being self-confident. These teach you how to take things in your stride and love who you are, which are also messages I hope I portray on my website.

Know What You’re Talking About

From a young age, one of my Grandad’s valuable life lessons┬áhas been “know your subject”. He believes that if we know what we are talking about inside and out, we will go far in life. For example, if you have to stand up and do a presentation (something I do quite a lot of at uni), then you must know what you are talking about. Of course, public speaking does not come naturally to everyone. My Grandad’s theory shows that if you are confident in what is it you are saying and believe your own words, you will give a great presentation.

Since this is something he has always taught me, I have listened and believed. Looking back, I can really understand what he means by this. It is kind of a way of “fooling” yourself into being confident. Having self-assurance and a positive mindset will always help you stand out from the crowd.

I suppose, my message today really is; believe in yourself and you will achieve great things. Have an optimistic attitude whilst you do that will help lead to even greater successes.

Thank you for reading. As always, I welcome you to share your opinions.
